Betredel ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This
policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect it, and your rights under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data Controller
Betredel is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Registered office: 2nd Floor, Pinnacle House, 12 Cross Street, Manchester M2 1AB, United Kingdom.

3. Personal data we collect
We collect only what we need to run tournaments, process entries and provide our content and services.
Individual participant data
• Name, email address, date of birth (to confirm eligibility) and platform gamertag/username.
Team registration data
• Team name, roster details, and the nominated representative’s contact information. The representative is responsible for confirming that they may share teammates’ details with us.
Tournament registration information
• Which events you have entered, entry status, check-in records and results.
Payment and transaction information
• For paid events, transaction records and payment confirmation. Card details are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
Match and tournament records
• Scores, brackets, standings and outcomes.
Customer service communications
• Messages you send us and our replies.
Contact form data
• The information you submit through the Contact page.
Video, livestream, photography and event media data (where applicable)
• Where you participate in a stream or appear in event media, this may include in-game footage, usernames, and any content you choose to share. We tell you in advance where an event will be recorded or streamed.
4. Legal bases for processing
- Contract — to register you, take entry fees and run events you enter.
- Legitimate interests — to operate and improve the club, publish results and recaps, keep records, and ensure fair play, balanced against your rights.
- Consent — for optional marketing emails, certain cookies, and event media where consent is the appropriate basis. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — to meet accounting, tax and other legal requirements.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies to run the site, remember preferences, measure usage and, where you consent, support marketing. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent, in line with PECR and the UK GDPR. See the Cookie Information section for details, and manage your choices through our cookie banner.
6. Website analytics
We use analytics to understand how the site is used and improve it. Analytics cookies that are not strictly necessary are set only with your consent.
7. Electronic marketing communications
We send marketing emails only where you have consented or where permitted under PECR (for example, about similar services to existing participants, with an opt-out). Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary: registration and results data for the current and recent seasons for record-keeping and disputes; financial records for as long as required by law (generally six years); and enquiry data for as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Media may be retained while relevant to our published coverage. We then delete or anonymise it.
9. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers acting on our instructions, or where required by law.
10. Service providers and processors
We use trusted processors for payment processing, website hosting, email delivery and analytics. They act under contract and may only use your data to provide services to us.
11. International data transfers
Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
12. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, including access controls and encryption in transit.
13. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data; correct inaccurate data; request erasure; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any right, contact info@betredel.com. We will respond within one month.
14. Children’s and minors’ privacy
Our events are for those aged 16 and over. For participants aged 16 or 17, we require parent or guardian consent and process their data with additional care. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
15. Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing.
16. Policy updates
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date.
17. Complaints procedure
If you have a concern, please contact us first at info@betredel.com so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
