TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Club and website overview
Betredel is an esports tournament club that organises competitive gaming events for individual players and teams in the United Kingdom, and publishes related schedules, results, editorial content and video coverage at betredel.com.

2. Applicability of these Terms
These Terms apply to your use of our website and to your registration and participation in our tournaments. By registering, you agree to them.

3. Participant eligibility
Participants must be resident in the United Kingdom and aged 16 or over. Some formats recommend an experience level; this is guidance unless stated as a requirement.

4. Participation by minors
Participants aged 16 or 17 must have consent from a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on their behalf. We do not accept entries from anyone under 16.

5. Individual registration
You register by completing the online form with accurate details. You are responsible for keeping your information current.

6. Team registration
A team is registered by a nominated representative who submits the full roster. The representative confirms they are authorised to provide teammates’ details and that all members meet the eligibility rules.

7. Team representative responsibilities
The representative is our main contact for scheduling, check-in and communications, and is responsible for ensuring the team follows these Terms and the event rules.

8. Free-entry tournaments
Free tournaments carry no fee. Places may be limited and allocated first-come, first-served or via a waiting list.

9. Paid-entry tournaments
Paid tournaments require the stated entry fee to confirm your place. The fee covers organisation and services described for that event — not any guaranteed outcome.

10. Tournament availability
Tournaments run subject to sufficient registrations and available capacity. We may close registration once an event is full.

11. Registration procedures
Registration is completed online. For paid events, your place is confirmed once payment is received and you receive a confirmation email.

12. Registration deadlines
Each event has a published deadline. Registrations received after the deadline cannot be guaranteed.

13. Entry fees
Entry fees are stated per event in GBP and are shown before you commit. Fees are for tournament entry and related services only. They are not bets, stakes, wagers or investments.

14. Payments
Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store full card details.

15. Registration confirmation
You will receive confirmation of your entry by email. Please check it and tell us promptly of any errors.

16. Formation of the service contract
A contract for a paid event is formed when we send you confirmation after payment. For free events, a contract is formed when we confirm your place.

17. Waiting lists
If an event is full, you may join a waiting list. Places are offered in order; for paid events you pay only if a place is confirmed.

18. Participant check-in
You must check in during the published check-in window. Places not claimed in time may be reallocated.

19. Tournament formats
Formats (for example single or double elimination, group stages) are described for each event and shared with confirmed entrants.

20. Tournament rules
Detailed rules are provided before each event and form part of these Terms for that event.

21. Schedule changes
We may make minor changes to timings for operational reasons and will notify entrants as early as possible.

22. Event postponement
If we must postpone an event, we will offer a new date or, for paid events, a refund where you cannot attend the new date.

23. Event cancellation
If we cancel a paid event, you are entitled to a full refund of your entry fee.

24. Participant withdrawals
You may withdraw at any time by contacting us. Refund treatment depends on timing, as set out below.

25. Cancellation and refund conditions
For paid events, if you withdraw:
more than 48 hours before the event start, you receive a full refund;
within 48 hours of the start, we may retain a reasonable amount reflecting costs already incurred, and refund the balance where applicable.
These conditions operate alongside your statutory rights and do not replace them.

26. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which requires services to be provided with reasonable care and skill. If a service falls short, you may be entitled to a repeat performance or a price reduction.

27. Cancellation rights for distance contracts
Because you register online, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 may apply. Importantly, those Regulations contain an exemption for the supply of services related to leisure activities where the contract provides for a specific date or period of performance. Most of our tournaments are scheduled for a specific date and time and therefore fall within this exemption, meaning the standard 14-day cancellation right may not apply to them. Where an entry is not tied to a specific date, a 14-day cancellation right may apply. We assess this by the actual nature of each event rather than applying a blanket rule, and we will always tell you which position applies before you commit.

28. Services requested during the cancellation period
Where a 14-day cancellation right does apply and you ask us to begin the service within that period, and the service is then fully performed, the cancellation right can be lost; if it is only partly performed when you cancel, you may owe a proportionate amount for what was provided. We will not treat you as having lost any cancellation right simply because you have registered, paid a fee, or taken part in only part of an event.

29. Participant responsibilities
You must provide accurate information, use your own accounts, meet the technical requirements and follow event rules and the code of conduct.

30. Team responsibilities
Teams are responsible for fielding eligible players, submitting accurate rosters and ensuring all members comply with these Terms.

31. Code of conduct
All participants must behave respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, abusive language and disruptive behaviour are prohibited.

32. Fair play principles
Competition must be honest. Collusion, match manipulation and abuse of bugs or exploits are prohibited.

33. Cheating and prohibited conduct
The use of cheats, unauthorised software, account sharing or any means of gaining an unfair advantage is prohibited.

34. Disqualification
We may disqualify participants who breach these Terms, the rules or the code of conduct, and may exclude them from future events.

35. Technical requirements
You are responsible for a suitable device, a stable internet connection and any required game or platform accounts.

36. Technical interruptions
Where a technical issue on our side materially affects an event, we will act reasonably to reschedule affected matches or, where appropriate, offer a remedy. We are not responsible for issues caused by your own equipment or connection.

37. Third-party games and gaming platforms
Our tournaments are played on third-party games and platforms subject to their own terms. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any game publisher or platform.

38. Intellectual property
The Betredel name, website content, recaps and original analysis are our property or licensed to us. You may not reproduce them without permission. Games and related assets remain the property of their respective owners.

39. Tournament results
We publish results in good faith based on match records. If you believe a result is wrong, contact us and we will review it.

40. Editorial content and analysis
Our recaps, previews and analysis are our own opinions and observations, clearly distinguished from verified results. They are not statements of fact about future outcomes.

41. Livestreams and video content
Recap videos produced by Betredel are our content. Any livestream we describe as ours is produced by us; otherwise it is embedded from an authorised third-party source, as indicated.

42. Third-party embedded content
Embedded content remains the property of the original creator or platform and is subject to their terms. We do not claim ownership or broadcasting rights over it.

43. Photography and event media
Where an event is recorded or streamed, we tell you in advance. Media featuring participants is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.

44. Disclaimer of results
Participation does not guarantee any particular outcome. Results depend on play on the day.

45. Website and service availability
We aim to keep the website and services available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access and may carry out maintenance.

46. Limitation of liability
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability in connection with an event is limited to the entry fee you paid for it. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

47. Force majeure
We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as major platform outages or other exceptional circumstances.

48. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales, subject to any different rights you have under the law of your part of the UK.

49. Complaints procedure
Please raise complaints with us at info@betredel.com. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and resolve matters fairly and promptly.

A note on prizes and gambling
Betredel does not offer gambling, betting, wagering, casino or real-money gaming. Entry fees are never bets or stakes. Where an event offers a prize, it is a legitimate competition prize awarded for performance in a game of skill, clearly distinct from any gambling activity. We do not invent cash prizes or prize pools. Participation does not guarantee tournament victories, improved rankings, professional esports careers, team contracts, sponsorships, prizes, financial benefits or any specific performance result.
